Walking in Wicklow Ireland's Ancient East
Arklow is the ideal base for walking breaks in County Wicklow. For novice walkers or those looking not to exert themselves too much there are a number of short walks around the area including the historic town walk, the river walk, the north beach and nature reserve walk, the Arklow town walk, the Glenart Forest & Castle walk and the Ballymoyle Hill walk to name but a few. For the more advance walker the 127 km of the Wicklow Way is walked from north to south, beginning at Marlay Park in south Dublin and ending in Clonegal, Co. Carlow. Arklow is located very close to the trail and is easily accessible by public transport. More details of this can be found here.
